Jackets and vests
What you need
A KEIS 12V battery pack or the vehicle supply lead (in the box, except with the J801). Check what items are included with your product by navigating to the product page and looking at "In the Box" or use the Wiring Guide on our support page.
Connect it
- Using a supply lead: Connect the "12V Input" cable in the zipped pocket at the bottom of the garment to the vehicle supply lead.
- Using a battery: Connect the "12V Input" cable in the zipped pocket at the bottom of the garment to the 5000mAh battery then secure the battery in a pocket.
- Push every plug fully home before you ride. You will hear and feel a solid click.
Switching it on
- If using a power controller (recommended) start by locating the large pocket on the front of your garment where the zip goes from bottom to top.
- Remove the small cable connecting the sockets (if you are NOT using a power controller leave this in. Your garment only works on high when you do this)
- Connect your power controller to the connections you can now see.
- Hold the power controller's button for 3 seconds. Its light shows the heat.
- Press to change the heat: red is High, amber is Medium, green is Low.
- Hold for 3 seconds again to switch off, then disconnect the power.
No controller? The link lead in the controller pocket runs the garment at full power as soon as it has power. You can use a simple on/off switch if you prefer, purchasable through our accessories page.
Power the rest of your kit
Gloves, trousers and socks plug into a jacket, vest or bodywarmer and share its power. The J801 runs on its own battery and does not power other kit. You will be able to locate cables on the arms (or armpits for vests) and a female connection on the waistline of the jacket for lower body connections.
When installing the power controller, disconnect your garment from its power supply. Avoid changing temperature while riding, use the high setting to get up to temp then reduce to green or amber for your ride.

What you need
Power from two KEIS glove batteries (12V or 7.4V), the vehicle supply lead and Y-lead, or a KEIS jacket, vest or bodywarmer. The heat button is built into each glove, so no controller is needed.
Connect them
- On batteries: put a battery in each glove's cuff pocket and push the battery's plug onto the glove's plug. The G701S has no battery pocket.
- On the supply lead: feed the cables down your outer jacket sleeves then connect both gloves to the Y-lead, and the Y-lead to your supply lead. Note: one cable is longer to account for being routed around your shoulders so should be used on the right arm.
- From a jacket: plug each glove into the lead at the end of its sleeve. From a vest or bodywarmer: run the extension leads from the socket under each arm down your riding jacket's sleeves.
Switch them on
- Hold the glove's button for 3 seconds.
- Press to change the heat: red is High, amber is Medium, green is Low. Each glove is set on its own.
- Hold for 3 seconds to switch off.
Use batteries or a lead, never both at once. 7.4V batteries only suit gloves with a letter batch number ('ABCD' NOT '1234').
Shop Gloves →Trousers
What you need
The vehicle supply lead (in the box), or a KEIS jacket, vest or bodywarmer to plug into. Add a power controller if you want to choose the heat. A KEIS 5000mAh battery also works, but the bike gives the longest heat.
Connect them
- On the supply lead: connect the 12V cable in the zipped pocket at the waist to your supply lead.
- From a jacket, vest or bodywarmer: plug the same cable into the socket at the garment's bottom edge.
- On a battery: connect the cable from the trousers to the battery. Carry it securely in your riding kit, as the trousers have no battery pocket.
Switch them on
The link lead on the flap at the waist runs them at full power. Fit a power controller in its place to choose the heat:
- Hold the controller's button for 3 seconds.
- Press to change the heat: red is High, amber is Medium, green is Low.
- Hold for 3 seconds to switch off.
Add socks
KEIS heated socks can plug into the trousers using built in cables found inside the zipps around your ankle.
Make sure knee and hip armour does not press the heating panels against you.
Socks
What you need
Power from KEIS heated trousers, a jacket, vest or bodywarmer, or the vehicle supply lead. Off the bike, KEIS 12V glove batteries work too. The extension lead is in the box.
Connect them
- Wear them over your normal socks.
- Connect them to the cable in your KEIS trousers' zipped pocket located around each ankle, or use the Y-lead to reach the female socket at the bottom edge of your jacket, vest or bodywarmer.
- Off the bike: You can replace the Jacket or Supply lead with a battery but you still require the Y-Lead fed down each leg.
Switch them on
Socks have one setting. They heat as soon as they are connected. To stop, disconnect them or use an on/off switch available on our accessories page.
The socks cannot be controlled by another garment that they are plugged into. To control the temperature you must use an on/off switch or lightweight controller.
Shop Socks →Cushion
What you need
A KEIS vehicle supply lead on your bike. The cushion is made for the motorcycle and runs from the bike.
Fit it
- Stretch the elasticated straps around the seat, with the button strap on the left-hand side.
- Connect the vehicle supply lead to your motorcycles battery
- Inflate both air chambers with the pump supplied, sit naturally in your riding position, then slowly let air out of each side until you can slightly feel the original seat. It is not meant to be used fully inflated.
- Plug its power cable into the supply lead firmly.
- Use the integrated power controller, hold the controller's button for 3 seconds.
- Press to change the heat: red is High, amber is Medium, green is Low.
- Hold for 3 seconds to switch off.
Switch it on
Press the lit button on the strap to step through Low, Medium and High. The light shows which is on. Switched off, it is still a comfort cushion.
Unplug it whenever you park up, and let it dry before storing it if it gets wet. Do not use when wet, allow to air dry.
Shop Cushion →Power controllers
What you need
A KEIS jacket, vest, bodywarmer or trousers. Each has a controller pocket with a link lead in it. Controllers are sold separately.
Fit it
- Locate the connections unit inside the large zipped pocket on the front of your garment (zip from bottom to top) or for trousers, it is located on the flap.
- Unplug the link lead from the two sockets in the controller pocket. Keep it safe: you may need it for warranty.
- Plug the controller into the same two sockets and push them fully home.
Use it
- Connect the garment to power. The controller flashes red when it has power.
- Hold the button for 3 seconds to switch on.
- Press to step through the heat: red is High, amber is Medium, green is Low.
- Hold for 3 seconds to switch off.
Which controller
The Power Controller and the Bluetooth Power Controller are for jackets, vests, bodywarmers and trousers, up to 10A. The Bluetooth one can also be set from the KEIS iControl app. The Light-Duty Power Controller is for glove liners and socks, with four settings from 25% to 100%.
Only fit a controller in the garment's controller pocket: never in line with the power lead, with a second controller, or with gloves that have their own button.
Shop power controllers →Batteries
Which battery
- 5000mAh (12V) for jackets, vests, bodywarmers and trousers. It also has USB-A and USB-C outputs.
- 4000mAh glove set: two 2000mAh 12V batteries, one per glove.
- 6000mAh glove set: two 3000mAh 7.4V batteries, one per glove, for longer run times at a gentler heat. Only for gloves with a letter batch number (ABCD).
Charge it
- Plug the supplied USB-C cable into the battery and a USB plug. The KEIS 30W fast charger (recommended) charges the 5000mAh fastest.
- The light is red while charging and green when full. Then unplug it.
- Don't leave batteries charging unattended or overnight.
Connect it
- 5000mAh: plug the garment's DC plug into the battery. Secure battery safely in a pocket. You can view charge status by clicking the side button.
- Glove batteries: push the battery's plug onto the glove's male connection and secure battery in glove pocket.
- The controller flashes red to show it has power. Hold its button for 3 seconds to switch on.
Look after it
Take it out of the garment when you are not riding. To store it, keep it at 40–60% charge somewhere cool, dry and ventilated, and top it back up to about half every 6 months.
An E1 code means the battery is too hot or too cold. Bring it back to room temperature to carry on.
Battery run times →Vehicle supply lead
What you need
The KEIS vehicle supply lead (in the box with most garments), its fuse pack, a few cable ties, and access to your bike's battery.
Fit it
- Choose the fuse: add up the amps of everything you will plug in and pick the next size up (our guide to wiring works it out for you). Fit it in the fuse holder and close it.
- With the bike off and cool, fit the red lead to the battery's positive (+) terminal and the black lead to the negative (−). Tighten both securely.
- Route the lead behind the fairings, away from moving and hot parts, and cable-tie it to the frame so the plug sits on the left, just in front of the seat. Refit the fairings.
Use it
Connect it to the 12V cable in your jacket, vest, bodywarmer or trousers, to the gloves' Y-lead, or to the cushion. Prefer to watch? Follow our video guide.
!!DO NOT INSTALL THIS CABLE WHILE THE VEHICLE IS RUNNING!! Unplug your kit from the lead whenever you park up, and before refuelling.
