Getting the most from a charge

Warm up, then turn down
Low runs two to three times as long as High. Warm up on High, then drop to the lowest setting that keeps you comfortable.

Keep spares warm
Batteries give less in the cold. Carry a spare inside your jacket rather than in a top box, and set off fully charged.

Ride all day on the bike
On a vehicle supply lead your kit runs for as long as the engine does. The guide to wiring shows the lead and fuse you need.

Charge it properly
Charge with the charger or cable supplied, and take the battery out of the garment when you are not using it.
Run times are worked out from each garment's power draw at each setting and the battery's capacity, allowing for conversion losses, and rounded to the nearest 10 minutes. They are the most you can expect: cold weather, an older battery and a part charge all take time off.

What battery options can power my KEIS heated jacket, vest or gloves?
• 5000mAh 12V battery pack – portable, works with everything but gloves.
• 2×2000mAh 12V glove batteries – fit into glove cuffs, ideal for short rides.
• 2×3000mAh 7.4V glove batteries – longer runtime, slightly lower heat.
For long rides, vehicle power is recommended.
What runtime can I expect for my 5000mAh battery?

What runtime can I expect for the 4000mAh battery?

What is the difference between 12V and 7.4V KEIS batteries?
12V = higher heat, shorter runtime. 7.4V = lower heat, longer runtime.
How long does it take to fully charge a KEIS battery pack?
5000mAh – ~2 hours with KEIS fast charger.
Can KEIS batteries be charged from a motorcycle USB port?
Possible, but less efficient. Use KEIS fast charger for best performance.
